The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will vote on its report on Community statistics on migration and international protection, and on its opinion on financial support for customs control equipment, on 19-20.11.18. It will also hold a hearing on the situation of the rule of law in Poland, in particular as regards the independence of the judiciary. The Committee will furthermore hear proposals of EYE2018 participants on migration and radicalisation prevention.
The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will vote on its report on LIFE 2021-2027, establishing a programme for the environment and climate action. LIFE is the only EU fund dedicated solely to environmental and climate objectives, bridging new knowledge development and its implementation. The proposed LIFE 2021-2027 aims to contribute to the shift towards a clean, circular, energy-efficient, low-carbon and climate-resilient economy. The meeting will be held on 20.11.18.
The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs will vote on the report on establishing a European Labour Authority, on 20.11.18. Its aim would be to facilitate access to information for individuals and employers about their rights and obligations, and access to relevant services. The report on the coordination of social security system, updating the existing regulation, will be voted on the same day.
The Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will look into the amendments to the report on the implementation of the Late Payment Directive, on 21.11.18. The amendments focus on, amongst other things, enforcement, name-and-shame, support for SMEs, and sector-specific payment deadlines. The Committee will also go over the draft report on the amending proposal for the Motor Insurance Directive. The draft concentrates on issues including the scope and checks on uninsured driving.
The Subcommittee on Human Rights will hold an interparliamentary committee meeting within the framework of Parliament's Human Rights Week taking place on 19-23.11.18. The aim is to look into the human rights dimension of the external policies of the EU and of the Member States. The debates will focus on mainstreaming human rights into external action, and issues regarding business and human rights. Ai Weiwei will deliver a speech on sustainable development. The meeting will be held on 20.11.18.
The Committee on Budgetary Control will go over the 2017 annual reports on the financial activities of the European Investment Bank and the protection of the EU's financial interests, during its meetings of 19-20.11.18. It will also discuss the Commission’s financial management within the framework of the 2017 discharge procedure with Commissioners Crețu and Moedas, with Secretary-General of the Commission Seymayr, and the respective European Court of Auditors members responsible.
